Summary: SUMMIT Early Learning Inc., a progressive, private non-profit agency in central Pennsylvania, seeks a Head Start/Early Head Start (HS/EHS) Director. The HS/EHS Director is responsible for administration and management of all aspects of the Head Start and Early Head Start programs in accordance with state and federal regulations. Works closely with the executive director in providing leadership; align all actions to support agency mission by ensuring all policies and procedures demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior. Office is located in Mifflinburg, PA.
Education & Background Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required (master’s preferred) in a field relevant to administering a comprehensive early childhood program (e.g. public administration, human services management, etc.). The successful candidate must be an experienced leader of at least five years, preferably with experience working in a Head Start program.
The successful candidate must have knowledge of principles of management, administration, human development, and adult learning, plus functions of community agencies and systems. Additionally, must have knowledge of financial management, including budget preparation, fiscal analysis, and monitoring. Must be familiar with federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations related to grants management and personnel management. Must know principles, practices, and objectives of early childhood education and HS/EHS programs, plus problem solving, group facilitation and ability to work well with others.
Compensation Range: Negotiated, Full time position (5 days/ week).
