Location: Lewistown Children’s Center

Summary of Duties: Needing to hire one head start/child care assistant teacher and several head start assistant teachers. The assistant teacher aids in the classroom helping to deliver head start and childcare services to a group of about 20 children ages 3-5. The successful candidate will assist and participate in all daily routines, implement the curriculum and daily plans and provide a safe environment throughout the day. The assistant teacher is supported by an experienced team and provides a positive environment that meets the needs of our children socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.

Education & Background Qualifications: Head start candidates must have a minimum of a high school diploma.  Head start/childcare candidates must have a minimum of a high school diploma PLUS two years’ experience working with young children. A CDA or ECE degree is preferred for all positions. Must have an interest in child development, a flexible personality and enjoy variety in daily work routines. Must also have the ability to work with cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic diverse populations, work independently, plus have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Location: Mifflinburg, PA

Summary: Full time position working for a large non-profit agency, in a positive family friendly environment. Must have the ability to assist as needed with maintenance, repairs and minor new construction (as needed) at Snyder and Union County sites, as assigned. Location: Strodes Mills

Summary of Duties: Transport groups of 20 or less children ages 3-5 years old to and from home and center on an air-conditioned school bus. Strodes Mills head start has two classrooms with two different start times. There is also another adult riding the bus with the children, as a bus monitor, who watches and takes care of the children during transport.
