Location: Lewistown, Mifflin County
Summary: Provides short term, support and intervention services to families that are enrolled in SUMMIT Early Learning programs. The position will focus on nurturing and enhancing the parent/child relationship to increase bonding and attachment, promote child and family health and well-being, prevent adverse childhood experiences, support family functioning for reunification, and link families to appropriate services within the community.
Education and Background Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or Human Services. Specialized training in Mental Health, Infant Toddler Development, Family Dynamics and Functioning, Crisis Intervention, Infant Mental Health, Trauma Informed Practice. A minimum of 1 year with pregnant women and families with infants, toddlers and preschoolers. A minimum of 2 years experience working with at risk families for abuse and neglect including emergency assistance, crisis intervention, advocacy and behavioral health support. Prefer 1 year experience in home visiting. Preferred Master’s Degree Infant Mental Health, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology; Certification in Counseling or Infant Mental Health.
Compensation Range: Full-time, $17.83 to $22.81 depending on education and experience.
Location: Lewistown, Mifflin County
Summary: Part time job transporting children to and from the Early Head Start program. Transporting children ages, infant to 3 years old. Currently transporting children 2 hours in the morning and then 2 hours home in the afternoon.
Education and Background Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Must have proof of a safe driving record, proper insurance, have been a licensed driver for at least the past 5 years and be 24 years of age or older.
Compensation Range: part time position, 20 hours/week; starting wage is $10.88 to $11.32/hour dependent upon experience.

Education and Background Qualifications: Must have a minimum of a CDA (Child Development Accreditation) in Infant/Toddler and have at least two years’ experience working with young children. Prefer an associates or bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. Requirements that must be satisfied prior to hire: a) proof of degree/certification and experience to meet the qualifications of the position, b) Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record check, c) successful completion of pre-employment physical examination which includes a Tuberculosis screening.
Compensation Range: Salary range starts at $13.65 to 15.44/hour depending upon education and experience. Full time position Monday to Friday daytime hours, 260 days/year.

You will assist in the classroom helping to deliver services to a group of pre-school children and their families, including implementation of the curriculum and daily plans and provide safe environment in the center. Education and Background Qualifications: Required Qualification: High school diploma or equivalency plus 2 years’ experience in early childhood education. Preferred Educational Qualifications: CDA (Preschool Child Development Associate), Associate’s degree in early childhood education (ECE), or associate’s in related field (child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services) with 30 ECE credits. Requirements that must be satisfied prior to hire: a) education and experience to meet the qualifications of the position, b) Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record check, c) successful completion of pre-employment physical examination which includes a Tuberculosis screening.
Compensation Range: Salary range starts at $9.75 – $11.88/hour depending upon qualifications. Full time, Monday- Friday (220 days/year, 8 hours/day)

Compensation Range: Salary range starts at $10.37 – $11.88/hour depending upon qualifications. Full time (240 days/year, Monday through Friday, 8 hour/day).
Summary: Seeking motivated individuals who enjoy working with young children to join our substitute list. Individuals must be able to work on an “as needed” basis. Hours are not guaranteed. Substitutes are called on to help as teacher aides, bus monitors and cooks.
Education and Background Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Prefer someone who has at least two years’ experience working with young children. Summary: SUMMIT Early Learning Inc., a progressive, private non-profit agency in central Pennsylvania, seeks an executive director to lead the agency, which is headquartered in Mifflinburg. SUMMIT provides quality early childhood education services to children and families in multiple counties, in an area exceeding 1000 square miles. 1600 children are served in 24 locations spanning five counties, through five programs: Head Start, Early Head Start, Child Care, Pre-K Counts, and Healthy Families America. SUMMIT maintains partnerships/agreements and collaborates with various community organizations and local/state/federal government, including Intermediate Units for Early Intervention, School Districts for kindergarten transition and Pre-K Counts, Community Action Agencies, Foster Grandparents, PA KEYS and STARS, and county health and human services agencies. Education and Background Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required (Master’s preferred) in a field of management, education, or social services. The successful candidate must be an experienced leader of at least five years in an organization with increasing responsibilities in fiscal and program management, and with an understanding of child development theories and practices. Requirements also include: knowledge of management principles, administration, and human development; understanding of the functions of social service grantee agencies; working knowledge of Head Start or comparable preschool child development programs, and all associated federal, state, and local regulations; an ability to build professional partnerships within the Head Start and Early Care community; skill in dealing with people, diplomacy, tact, and discretion; ability to strategically and creatively solve problems; exceptional written and oral communication skills; and demonstrated success in managing multiple projects.
