We are looking for a motivated and caring individual to work with school-aged children in SUMMIT’s after school program located at the Lewistown Elementary School. This position would fit well for a retired school teacher, current student teachers or substitute teachers. Must have good communication skills and an interest in child development.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years’ experience working with young children.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the head teacher with the daily functions and general planning for after school activities. Oversee the daily functions and supervision in absence of the head teacher. Be emotionally responsive and supportive of the individual development of each child. Supervise and interact with children in all activities. Promote positive communication with parents. maintain health and safety standards of the program.

LOCATIONS:
Lewistown Elementary School, Lewistown PA

HOURS & SALARY: Part-time, 15-20 hours/week, Monday-Friday, afternoons.

Rate of Pay: based on education/experience
    High school diploma: $15.56/hour
    CDA: $16.81/hour
    AA/BS: $17.40/hour
