ASSISTANT TEACHER - School Age Program
Looking for a part-time afternoon job working with school-age children?
SUMMIT Early Learning is looking for a dependable, caring Assistant Teacher to join our Centers for School Age Development (CSD) program at Lewistown Elementary School.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for a consistent Monday–Friday afternoon schedule. You’ll help create a fun, positive, and welcoming environment where children can relax, learn, play, and connect after their school day.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As an Assistant Teacher, you’ll work alongside the CSD Teacher to:
- Supervise and interact with children during indoor and outdoor activities
- Help create a warm, caring, positive, and accepting environment
- Participate in daily program routines and activities
- Assist with planning activities, special events, and field trips
- Support the individual development and needs of each child
- Build positive relationships and communicate appropriately with children, families, and staff
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming program environment
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High school diploma or GED plus 2 years of experience working with children
Preferred:
High school diploma or GED with a CDA or 15 credit hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or a Human Services field, plus 1 year of work experience.
LOCATION
Lewistown Elementary School | Lewistown, PA
HOURS & PAY
Part-time | Monday–Friday | Approximately 2:00–5:30 PM
Approximately 15–20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours during school breaks.
$15.67–$17.52/hour, depending on education and qualifications.
