CENTER DIRECTOR

SUMMIT Early Learning is seeking a Center Director for our Mifflinburg Children’s Center. We’re looking for an experienced, people-focused leader who enjoys supporting staff, building relationships with families, and creating an environment where children and employees can thrive.

As Center Director, you’ll provide day-to-day leadership for a busy early childhood center serving children and families through Head Start, Early Head Start, Pre-K Counts, Child Care, and other early learning programs. You’ll work as part of a larger leadership and support team while serving as the primary on-site leader for the center.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with a minimum of 30 credits in Early Childhood Education
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an early childhood setting
At least 1 year of management or supervisory experience in an early childhood education program

A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and additional management or supervisory experience in early childhood programs are preferred.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Center Director oversees the daily operations of the center while providing leadership and support to staff and ensuring high-quality services for children and families. Responsibilities include:

Lead, supervise, coach, and support center staff
Coordinate staffing and schedules to maintain required ratios and effective center operations
Promote a positive, professional, accountable, and team-oriented workplace culture
Oversee day-to-day center operations and support compliance with DHS, Keystone STARS, Head Start, Early Head Start, Pre-K Counts, Child Care, and other applicable requirements
Support high-quality classroom practices, curriculum implementation, and positive outcomes for children
Build strong, welcoming relationships with children and families
Address center needs and concerns through effective communication and problem-solving
Collaborate with education, enrollment, family engagement, health, behavioral/mental health, HR, facilities, and other agency teams
Monitor center needs related to health and safety, facilities, supplies, technology, and overall operations
Support continuous quality improvement and the ongoing success of the center

HOURS & SALARY

Full-time | Monday–Friday | $49,261/year
