HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR

As a member of the Executive Management Team, the Human Resources Director is responsible for planning and implementing human resources initiatives and strategies for our progressive, private non-profit agency in central Pennsylvania. SUMMIT Early Learning provides quality early childhood education services to children and families in multiple counties, in an area exceeding 1000 square miles. Our workforce is comprised of 240 passionate employees and our headquarters are located in Mifflinburg, PA.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The Human Resources Director oversees talent acquisition, compensation strategy, training and development, employee relations, and retention and engagement strategies. This individual is responsible for establishing people practices that position SUMMIT Early Learning as an early childhood education career destination and employer of choice. The Human Resources Director’s role includes the interpretation and administration of Human Resources policies and practices. QUALIFICATIONS:
Required qualifications include:
a Bachelor’s degree in business management, human resources, public administration, or a related field and at least 3 years of progressive leadership experience in a professional management, human resources, or administrative position is required; experience in Human capital and cultural transformation with a proven ability to demonstrate measurable results through the use of analytics and metrics plus proven experience in change management within a highly complex environment; a strong belief in the value of early childhood education and Head Start; experience with problem solving and group facilitation; working knowledge of principles of human resources management and administration, Federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations related to employment; integrity and loyalty to SUMMIT’s vision and mission; exceptional interpersonal skills.

Preferred qualifications include: at least five years of progressive leadership experience in human resources positions, supervision experience, and SHRM or HRCI certification plus experience in a non-profit organization or business similar to SUMMIT Early Learning.

HOURS & SALARY: Full time; salary range is $54,602 – $59,103/year dependent upon credentials and experience.

ASSISTANT TEACHERS (year-round)

HEAD START TEACHER (school year)

Classroom teachers at SUMMIT Early Learning are supported by an experienced team that provides a positive environment that meets the needs of children socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of an associate’s degree in early childhood education or an associate’s in related field with 15 ECE credits. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have an interest in child development, a flexible personality and enjoy a variety in daily work routines. HEAD START ASSISTANT TEACHERS (school year)

EDUCATIONAL COACHES

SUMMIT Early Learning is seeking motivated and energetic individuals to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent time management and organizational skills, and be trustworthy as well as a self-starter. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field and minimum of 2 years’ experience in early childhood. Preferred: At least 5 years’ experience in early childhood and experience in adult education and training.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Educational Coach, with a minimum of two years’ experience in early childhood and experience in adult learning, implements practice-based processes for supporting staff’s use of effective practices that lead to positive outcomes for children and families; must have a strong belief in the value of early childhood education and the ability to work well with others; must be willing to travel to all agency locations (Snyder, Union, Mifflin counties). Agency vehicle provided.

LOCATION: Both positions require travel to classroom locations; one is primarily located in Union/Snyder counties; the other position is in Mifflin County and western Snyder County.

HOURS & SALARY: Full-time position at 8 hours/day, Monday – Friday; $17.09 – $17.78/hour depending upon qualifications. 200 days/year plus minimal summer hours.

CENTER DIRECTOR

Summit Early Learning Lewistown, a 4 STAR center, is seeking a Center Director. This position is perfect for a dynamic, energetic, experienced professional in the field of early childhood education.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum qualification of an associate’s degree in early childhood education or a related field, with a minimum of 30 credits in early childhood education (ECE); a Minimum of 2 years experience in an early childhood setting, and at least 1 year’s management/supervisory experience in ECE programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Center Director is responsible for creating and managing an attractive, warm, and challenging learning environment for young children, incorporating developmentally appropriate learning activities which meet the needs of the group as well as those of individual children. Have knowledge of Early childhood development curricula; creativity in team management and supervision; effective supervision skills; effective time management; child behavior management which supports learning in a relaxed, calm classroom environment.

HOURS & SALARY: $43,251 – $44,999/year depending upon qualifications. 

LIFEGUARDS

CSD (Center for School-Age Development) is seeking Lifeguards for our Summer Camp programs. Perfect summer employment!

QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer two years’ experience working with children; plus a high school diploma, but must be at least 16 years old for consideration. Must have current lifeguard certification.

LOCATION: Union, Snyder, & Mifflin Counties

HOURS & SALARY:  Monday through Friday daytime hours. Pay starting at $12.77/hour.

Lifeguards will also receive a $100 bonus upon completion of summer.
