FAMILY SUPPORT ASSISTANT

SUMMIT Early Learning is seeking motivated and energetic persons to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent time management and organizational skills, and be trustworthy as well as a self-starter. 

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required, prefer associate’s degree in human services or related field plus experience working with families.

CENTER DIRECTOR

SUMMIT Early Learning Susquehanna, a STAR 4 center, is seeking a Center Director. This position is perfect for a dynamic, energetic, experienced early childhood education (ECE) professional.

QUALIFICATIONS: The required minimum qualifications include an associate’s degree in early childhood education (ECE) or a related field, with at least 30 credits in ECE, 2 years experience in an early childhood setting, and at least one year of management/supervisory experience with ECE programs.  

Knowledge and skills in the following areas are also required: Early childhood development curricula; creativity in team management and supervision; effective supervision skills; effective time management; child behavior management which supports learning in a relaxed, calm classroom environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Center Director is responsible for creating and managing an attractive, warm, and challenging learning environment for young children, incorporating developmentally appropriate learning activities which meet the needs of the group as well as those of individual children.

CSD (Centers for School Age Development) ASSISTANT TEACHERS

Do you enjoy working with school aged children, kindergarten through 6th grade? This is a great opportunity for part-time work, Monday through Friday. Morning and/or afternoon shifts available.

QUALIFICATIONS: Two years’ experience working with young children preferred. Experiences can include babysitting, vacation bible school, Sunday school, volunteering in a classroom setting.

Must have an interest in child development and a flexible personality, as well as enjoy variety in daily work routines. Must have the desire and ability to work with culturally, ethnically, and socio-economically diverse populations, be able to work independently, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

BUS DRIVER

Transport groups of 20 or less children ages 3-5 years old to and from home and center on an air-conditioned school bus, working as a team with the Bus Monitor who also rides the bus and takes care of the children.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma required plus proof of a safe driving record, proper insurance, and current Commercial Driver’s License with S endorsement. Must be a licensed driver for at least the past 5 years. 

LOCATION: MIFFLIN COUNTY 

HOURS & SALARY: 35 hours/week, 200 days/year. Monday – Friday.  $12.77 – $13.29/hour, depending on experience.
