ASSISTANT TEACHER - Head Start / Child Care (year-round)
We are looking for caring individuals who have a passion for helping children learn and grow and making a difference in the lives of children and families everyday.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with and participate in all center routines, including nap, meals, bathroom, circle, group, and outside times. CENTER DIRECTOR

Summit Early Learning Lewistown, a STAR 4 center, is seeking a Center Director. This position is perfect for a dynamic, energetic, experienced professional in the field of early childhood education.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualification is an Associate degree in early childhood education or a related field, with a minimum of 30 credits in early childhood education (ECE); a minimum of 2 years of experience in an early childhood setting, and at least one year of management/supervisory experience in ECE programs. Also important to have knowledge of Early childhood development curricula; creativity in team management and supervision; effective supervision skills; effective time management; child behavior management which supports learning in a relaxed, calm classroom environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Center Director is responsible for creating and managing an attractive, warm, and challenging learning environment for young children, incorporating developmentally appropriate learning activities which meet the needs of the group as well as those of individual children.

EARLY HEAD START HOME VISITOR
Provide home-based Early Head Start (free voluntary home visiting service for expectant and new parents) to families in Snyder and/or Union Counties.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: CDA (Child Development Associate) in home-based or infant/toddler. Must have the ability to work with culturally, ethnically, and socio-economically diverse populations. Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field, plus two years’ experience in services with infants/toddlers and one year of experience working with families in a home-based setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver home-based Early Head Start services to families.
LOCATION: Mifflinburg, PA with travel throughout Union and/or Snyder Counties.
HOURS & SALARY: Full-time (38.75 hours per week) Monday – Friday. $16.41 – $18.24 per hour, depending on qualifications.
INFORMATION/TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT TECHNICIAN
Work in a positive family-friendly environment in this full-time position. Our large nonprofit agency is supported by an experienced management team. The position involves exciting work traveling to various locations in Union, Snyder, and Mifflin counties. An Agency vehicle is available for travel. The office location is in Mifflinburg. Some work may be completed remotely.
QUALIFICATIONS: A solid working knowledge to diagnose connectivity issues and work on PC and basic Network troubleshooting required with appropriate years of related experience. Experience troubleshooting PCs and printers. Active Directory knowledge is a plus. Associate degree in IT-related major is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Daily troubleshooting of PC-related issues that may result in the need to repair and/or format and reinstall OS and necessary programs.

MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST

QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for individuals with a strong belief in the value of early childhood education, problem solving and group facilitation skills, and experince with disabilities and mental health principles and theories.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in special education, early childhood education, or related field and minimum of 2 years’ experience providing disabilities, mental health, or behavior supports to young children.
Preferred: PA Behavior Specialist License, two years’ experience with positive behavioral supports implementation in an early childhood setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish a trusting and collaborative relationship with a variety of staff/team members.
- Develop, implement, and monitor positive guidance approaches for children presenting social-emotional challenges.
- In conjunction with program staff, observe patterns of interaction and define issue of concern related to educational and social-emotional functioning. Support completion of child development screening and assessments. Make timely referrals to outside agencies and conduct regular follow-up. Utilize assessments and observations to determine and evaluate child outcomes.
- Provide early detection, consultation, and intervention to staff for supporting children at risk for disabilities, mental health, or behavior concerns.
- Assist parents to understand education and/or social supports needed for their child’s success in the classroom and collaborate on the development and implementation of an individual plan to meet their child’s needs.
- Coordinate and maintain effective partnerships with community-based early childhood disabilities and mental health service providers. Work with service provider teams to ensure comprehensive, coordinated, and integrated services and social emotion supports for children and families.
- Assist with developing, implementing, and coordinating the delivery of early childhood disability, mental health, and behavior supports services within classrooms, ensuring that each child/family receives optimal services consistent with the requirements of contractual agreements, laws, regulations, funding documents, and standards.
- Keep current with best practices and provide leadership assistance, resources, guidance, support, and mentoring and training to staff, parents, and collaborative partners.
- In coordination with team members, plan and provide staff development and training programs related to disabilities, mental health, and positive behavior supports.
